Rooster, Bunco and girls luncheon

The Red Rooster/ Bunco
January 3'd 2020

There has really not been much happening since the new year began. All of those resolutions have fallen to the wayside, I got sick one weekend, work has been a bear...my Italian vacation was CA due to timing, funds, and a selfish part of me that wants more then just a few hour port dock to visit. With that there has been no vacations planned. I have been living vicariously through blogs and youtube, wishing I could simply pack up and take off. Someday seems so far away.... In the meantime, I did have a few outings with friends since 2020 began. I met up with Kelly and Tammy for a luncheon at Red Rooster.

I wasn't to excited about this salad, but I am told many LOVE it. Kelly and Tammy enjoyed it. I was not a fan of the chard lettuce. Who thought that would be a good idea? Soggy lettuce is not my thing. I ended up getting my meal for free. Can't complain about that.
It was the company after all that this meal was all about anyways, and I did enjoy the time with these ladies.

Across the street from the restaurant was this oddity. We were told these are windmills for energy, they looked more like an alien encounter.

Later that evening was Holiday Bunco time. We celebrated BUNCO with food and games, and presents.

I even got to see an old friend, Shannon, whom I have not seen in a while. Nice to see old friends, eat and get presents.
January 9th was the Birthday of my youngest. 17 years old....Where did the time go?

I had offered to show my gratitude and joy of our front desk gals with a lunch for the holidays. finding it hard to get both of these important ladies away during the work day, we decided to meet on a Saturday. A luncheon was planned at Applebee's. It was very yummy and on the cheep. Thank you Applebee's for your budget friendly meal. (Especially when I am buying.). I did have a cocktail, it only cost $1- . Celebrating Jessica and Mary was only made better with the surprise friends who also joined us, Stefanie and Kate.

In between spending time EATING at gathering, I have been proactive about budgeting, cleaning and purging. I admit, I have not been proactive about better eating habits and getting to the gym. Some people would say, don't do to much all at once. Thinking I will really get moving after the three day weekend.
Work continues to be a challenge. I, once again am contemplating my professional existence.
This seems to be an ongoing theme for me and as I get older the shorter the time for possibilities is getting. Hubby says...quit. Then I wonder what would I do with myself? I said, I will quit when your ready to retire and hit the road. That golden goal is at a minimum of eight years in our future. We still have to get the youngest child on his adult direction. This is at least another 2 years. I can't really expect to sell the house and kick him into his now your an adult path while he is still in high school. Or even as he enters into his next stage of life.
In the meantime, I am squiring away monies, purging "things" that we really don't need, taking care of the house, and I should be working on getting healthy too. I found that my health insurance will pay me monies to go to the gym....MOTIVATION is a wonderful thing.

This past weekend, Mark and I spent some time at the casino. He had tickets to some fight and I had reservations at the SPA. (Below is Mark at the fights with his friends.I thieved this picture)

It was pretty yucky outside, I was grateful that we had a room reserved. My plan was to hang at the spa all evening, but some of my friends were heading to the casino for some BINGO. Mark enjoyed the fight and I played BINGO. I am NOT really a Bingo fan. It really is BORING and I usually loose my numbers. No winners in the group, Shannon, Gina and her husband.
It was enjoyable to spend the time with some friends. Would have loved to win. NO such luck.

Sunday morning, I hunted down some coffee and a newspaper and made my way to the pool/hot tub where I enjoyed a little relaxation time before we headed home.
Today, I am spending my time cleaning the house and planning for the short week ahead. Mark and I don't have much coming up in the ways of vacations, so these little weekend getaways are always a nice break.  Until the next (in February) it looks like I will have no excuse to get to the gym and eating better. Until then TTFN.

Roaring in the 20's a New Years Celebration.

Happy New Year
Turning Stone Resort and Casino
December 31st 2019-Jan 1st 2020

Mark and I spent New Years Eve at Turning Stone Resort and Casino. We had a room at the Lodge. This room also had a fireplace, which was very nice and romantic.
After check in we had a little time before the evening festivities, so we hit up the pool and spa.

Soon, it was time for the evening to start.
Everywhere you looked was decorations for 2020!!!
Back in the room, I watched a youtube tutorial on 20s style make up. I think I pulled off the look

All dressed for the evening. we made our way to the theater where we were greeted by some of the 20's black and white movie icons.
Lillian Gish, Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton.
Buster Keaton enjoyed poking fun at Mark's bald head.
We had dinner with friends....

The 20's decor continued throughout...Just love this old car made of ice.

We were offered a few magic shows while we ate.
Dessert had an edible Happy New Year.
More Ice Sculptures were available in the larger dining room.

The second room also had some very elegant tables.

The shows continued, here we watched a women spin from the ceiling on a crescent moon.

These lovelies did some acrobatics on the silks.
Women in 20's outfits danced to music of the day. The band did a great job too.

Just as the clock was getting closer to midnight this women came around with cocktails in her dress.
And Soon it was time to count down  5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Happy New Year and Happy Anniversary!

What a wonderful evening of fun. New years resolutions soon to be made. For our anniversary, Mark and I got new bikes.....I cant wait for spring to start riding.
