June has come quick: Camping, visit from Florida, Graduation, Our horse racing adventures begin.

 June 2021-local area

So far June has been a very busy and exciting month. Our son Ben and his girlfriend came to visit, we had a graduation, Birthday, Fathers Day and our horse qualified for the seasonal racing.

Earlier this year, my husband and a few friends purchased a race horse. Kisses From Above, KFA had his qualifying race at Vernon Downs a few weeks ago. He met with the qualifications and placed 3d in the race.

It was all quite exciting to see our horse in the guide.
I am not an expert on horse racing, but we were told he did well although he seemed to get a but spooked at the last turn. Also I am told the jockey did not want to push him as this was just a qualifier.

I am happy to see how he does at the races. (later in this blog).

I joined a summer bowling league. I really suck. But one this day I actually got a turkey on the last frame.

Our team "livin on a Spare." consists of Sara, Shannon, Christina and myself.

I keep telling myself, its all for fun. I am the worst on our team, and I find myself cursing every Sunday about deciding to do this. BUT...once I get there we generally have a great time. I only wish I could bowl better.

I have been talking about getting Riley groomed for a while now, and I finally got him scheduled and ready for a "spa day". Things started out great, he was clearly exited and couldn't wait to get in the grooming room.

Once he was registered and I was told to come back in about 3 hours, I said my goodbyes and my good luck to the groomer I was off. Well, less then 30 minutes later I got a call. Yeah, he's not going to be groomed. Apparently he was so stressed out just with the hair dryer they did not think they could actually groom him. Sooooo....fail at the spa. Riley, you are so crazy!!!!

June weekends have been spent at camp. This weekend we had a few fun faces. My daughter Alexis, son Nick, Stefanie, Nikki and her boyfriend, Alicia and Kelly. It was a great time enjoying the out doors, and it was not to cold like the last week we camped.

Back home I painted a few more rocks.

and I started a better eating regime. (this only lasted about a week...I have to get back to it ASAP)
Went to the movies with Carol and Brenda. The Quiet Place 2. I was freaked out and didn't breathe for parts of it. (Like the monsters would get me).
My youngest graduated from High school.
I'm thrilled! The COVID arrangements were odd. 1st time I ever sat with the grad during the ceremony.

My son Ben and his girlfriend Leo arrived the night before graduation. The following day we all went to the casino and Gavin and Connor tried gaming for the 1st time. Both Gavin and Connor went home with money in their pockets. Leo did too. Mark, his mother, Ben and I we were the biggest to loose.
Gavin's a winner.

We had dinner at Pino Bianco. This has to be the biggest Chicken Parm I have ever seen. It was delish. (There goes the good healthy eating I started last week.)

Later Mark and I had some deserts. Mine was raspberry cheesecake. OH MY YUM!!!!
The eating doesn't stop. We had a BBQ party to celebrate all of the family events; Graduation, Birthdays, fathers day!
My parents came. The kids

More deserts.....

Then we spent the rest of the weekend at camp!

We had the best time.

Back at home for fathers day. I was able to get all of the kids together for an afternoon.

love this crew

then we enjoyed celebrating fathers day.

Before long...the wild week was over and Ben went home. Celebrations over and it was back to normal. HOWEVER, on Tuesday this past week. Kisses made his very first race at Saratoga. I met up with Mark and we drove the 21/2 hours to Saratoga where Mark had to get his owners license and prepare for the first race. Mark and the other owners; Pete/Julie. Were all prepared for the first real run.
Kisses was sitting in 3d nicely and we were sure to take 2nd with no problem then the jockey pushed him at the turn. Kisses broke (Apparently this is broke out of stride) and he lost his run falling into 5th at the end. EVERYONE was SAD!!! It was the worst ride home ever. We did stop to have lunch at Raindancer before doing some more gaming at Turning Stone casino. I walked away a winner. Below is the unicorn rock I left in Saratoga.

Everyone sad, but Kisses trainer has replaced the jockey for future races and will be working with kisses to keep in stride for upcoming races. The number 1 horse has been kicking butt. Currently the fastest 2 year old in the country. So I feel like we would have never got 1st. Despite the break, kisses ran an amazing race and the trainer keeps saying hes got it in him to run well. He has another race next Wednesday. Lets see how he does. Until then, thanks for letting me catch up on my life.....TTFN
