We had a great time celebrating my eldest Birthday. 

We went to the western bar at Turning Stone for some country. 

and watched Crazy Beach run at Vernon Downs. 

 

May /June 2023: Camp, Horses

May/June 2023

Well, we made our way out to camp. I'm sad because this will be our last season at this place. I'm putting the trailer up for sale at the end of August. Enjoying all the time we can while we have it. I anticipate several weekends here relaxing, and spending time with others. I have found many friendships out here at camp and have spent many happy days. It is a chapter of my life I will miss much. As I am writing this now, I wish I knew better. Of course, things did not go as planned and it appears that I am still in NY. (A story for another day, but I no longer have the trailer and I no longer have the camp.) Had I known, I would still be in NY one more summer, perhaps I would have kept her for one more year. (Its okay, it was time to move on.) So, I will just recall these happy days with a smile. 

Kisses from Above did well for most of the spring season. Here we all are in the winners circle. 

Many weekend evenings were spent out at the track. Vernon Downs, has been trying to make the place family friendly and every weekend there has been some kind of attraction to encourage people to come out. Give-aways, (We got an umbrella, blueberries, corn, the list goes on.) They have also had a few fun events like the miniature horses races.  They had a corn eating contest one time, and that was super fun to watch. Usually they have the horse toss, where you may win some cash or at the end of the season, a new car. I have only tossed once and didn't get a single horse into the bucket.

There have also been a few days spent at the casinos. Looks like I may have even won some money back. 

Vernon Downs casino usually has a band playing on Friday and Saturday nights, so if your ever tired of the horses, you can just walk on over and enjoy some music or play some slots. This has been a nice distraction from spending all my time waiting for one of the horses to run. And as noted a win at the slots every once in awhile is nice. 

 Mark and I had a movie date to see Fast and The Furious  Fast X. Apparently this is only part 1 of 2 movies. Has anyone else noticed that movies are doing this more often. Now were both waiting for the 2nd part of this to come out. Hell, by the time it does, I surly wont remember what happened in the last one. I am always confused about what Fast in the Furious it is to begin with. 

Another evening at the track. Mark has several friends that come out and cheer him on. This evening the moon was incredible.

A few more days at camp. Enjoying breakfast with my neighbor Bailey. Wow, she has grown over the winter. 

The local farm down the street from camp offers free coffee and doughnuts on Saturday mornings. It's always a nice treat.

Time for a rest. (I'm sure he is missing camp the most.)

I had dinner with some of the ladies from my last job. It's awesome that Nikki keeps us on a schedule to meet up every once in a while. I love the places we go, the friendship (of course), but I can't tell you how much I love to hear about what's still going on at the office. There really are not many of my friends still at my old place of employment, At this "date" Nicole is the only one still there. Nikki works with Adult Protective in the county, and Cynthia actually works in the same department with children as my daughter. (BOCES). We had a wonderful time catching up and some delish fun cocktails. 

Well that pretty much sums up the things that I do between my "trips" in May and June. 2023 was a BIG year for adventures for me, I am so blessed to have these opportunities and grateful as well. TTFN

Ladies Only :Woodloch

April 26th- April 28th 2023

Another annual trip to Woodloch resort with the Ladies. This trip is an annual trip that is with Tulip Travel and they seem to go every year. This year we did not have as many women as last year and we had 5 chaperones. Me, Annette, Edie, Laura and Chris. We had two houses, which are beautiful btw, and we soon got ourselves settled in and it was time for the evenings events to start. There is a shuttle that takes us to the main building where we all got on, (we needed two shuttles to get all of us there) and we first had dinner. They always have the best meals. 

After dinner we headed to the nightclub where we were entertain with the Woodloch Musical Review show.  The show was fun, they sang all kinds of songs and dressed up like the artist. 

We also enjoyed the beauty of nature. We saw several deer, and this guy, Ok, so he wasn't at current out in the wild, but hey, here he is. 

Speaking of beauty. Tulips are my favorite flowers. 

I have never been to this place during the summer months, but I bet taking a dip in the lake is quite refreshing. There are several activities offered at this resort, but many of them are best to be done in warmer weather. 

On the second day we spent some time, playing trivia. We spent the afternoon doing manicures, hair and make up. We also have glam pictures and awards. The gals seem to like this. We also shop. Another favorite activity of the ladies. 

Food is the best part of the trip. There are always amazing choices and so yummy. On our last day, we played a few musical games and soon we were back on the road to home.
