Central NY
Point Place Casino, Bridgeport, NY
It is 6am on Sunday....I have until 11:59 tonight to get my paper submitted for class. I would rather be DOING anything else. I feel like I have been working on it for an eternity....and I am still not done.....And I went back to school because????? Crickets chirping....At any rate, working on my paper has been the only thing I have been doing lately.
Daydreaming of the days of vacation....soon to come. We have quite a few planned for this year. Disney in April, Cruise to Bermuda in May, small RVs trips in June & July, Saratoga & The Cape in August.....maybe I will plan something in September, Watkins Glen and California-Mexican Riviera Cruise in October....Scattered throughout I plan some day trips.....BUT for now.....I just sit at my computer dreading the next 6 weeks of class.....why oh why did the one class I absolutely HAVE to take be SO much work?????? At this point I don't even know if I even want my license....TRAVELING sounds do much more fun!!!!
Yesterday my husband insisted on a break away from my 16 page paper....I was reluctant, but went anyway. We took a trip to Bridgeport, NY to get a look at the new Casino that had just opened Thursday. (We had an exclusive pre-showing on Wednesday, but I could not pull myself away from the dreaded paper to go.)
It was a much needed break.....and I was grateful to pull myself away from the multiple articles I had been ruffling through, play some slots and eat a meal.
Point Place is Turning Stone Casino's second child. Second to Yellowbrick casino in Chittenango, NY. We did not make any cash scores but the layout and the cabin theme was impressive. At current standing, other then not having a major win, I can not stay there was a thing I disliked about the place. The cabin theme spans throughout the expansive open floor plan and like the other sibling (Yellowbrick)..free help yourself soda and coffee machines are off to the sides. Three large covered patios flank the front of the wood cabin exterior with Adirondack like chairs and some with fireplaces.(I bet it will be charming in the summer months) There is also a large circular fireplace sitting area. I absolutely LOVED that.(Mark and I agree Casinos should have something for the non-gambling partners who come. I could have easily found a soft seat and read a book, watched sports at the bar, or sit in the eating area relaxing.) Two open area bars, an Opals (Desserts and pastries) and two restaurants....Wicked Good Pizza and Burgers Over Madison County....we had some burgers and true to the claim, (best burgers in Madison County) they were PRETTY GOOD!!!!!
We didn't stay long....PAPERS to write, but it was a much needed break from the screen and papers. I anticipate more trips there in the future.
Well.....distraction OVER!!!! Time to switch to what I need to do and not what I want to do...Got to finish this paper so I can start studying for the Mid Term exam happening Thursday....AGGGAHHH!!!! TTFN!!!!!
