Home: work and ownership!

June 2019
Liverpool NY

We neglected our home for so many years and it shows...so we decided to take a deep dive into updating. We have been good about updating the necessities. We have a newer roof, windows, hot water tank, pool liner, air condition is set (for now) and cement etc. but the aesthetics are dreadful. We also NOW officially OWN the place, so we might as well make it look good. We have completed painting in the living room (took down a partial wall as well), and Mark started digging up the front WEED bed. Yes this thing has been an eye sore for years and the weeds have been taking over. We have made several attempts to take care of it, but this year we got serious. We were quoted $1,800 for a till, mulch and trim. Well...thanks but no thanks and Mark got busy. He dug so deep, he went to far.

It is done and only cost us the price of dirt and mulch. I got the flowers and so far it's looking pretty good.
I know I am writing about HOME work....but a cute picture of this guy is always fun.

We also got serious about the floors. We have had this nasty rugs for years. In one section there was an iron burn when we moved in. It has been there now for over 10 years. Goodbye nasty old run...hello "wood like"  floors

It took us some time getting started, I think the first few rows took most of a Saturday morning. But once we got going...it was smooth sailing.

Next project is to complete the floors in the livingroom, add baseboards to the and crown molding to the diningroom and then on to the next big task....we need to replace several doors, new carpet upstairs, bathroom remodels, new deck, exterior painting/or new siding,  continued lawn work and finally remodel the kitchen. Once all of that is complete we may finally be able to say with confidence....I love my house!
