Hershey Park 2023

Hershey Park, Hershey PA
 June 14-15 2023

This was another Tulip trip. I am forever grateful for being a part of this agency and having the opportunity to travel with people. Our first day was spent traveling, and we had a nice dinner at Applebee's before hitting the hotel and our beds.
The following day was the park day. This is Hershey Parks 50th Anniversary year! In 1973, the park opened its doors for the very first time. It has changed a lot since then, but still has that small park feel. I even remember coming when I was a kid.
We got our tickets and made our way into the park.

Up first we all did a ride on the carousel. This is always fun. I have decided it does not matter how old I get, I will always be a kid at heart and enjoy things like the carousel.

There were several people who were interested in the bigger and much more scarier rides, so I took off from the larger group with these guys and we headed to some of the roller coasters. I can no longer handle these types of rides so I sat on the side and watched. They all went on the Comet, then the swings. I actually forbid my kids from riding these when they were younger. There is just something about them that seem super unsafe, but these guys insisted.
Up next was a few other roller coasters and one called the Super Dooper Looper. Yeah!!!! that will be a big NO for me.

We headed back to meet with the larger group for lunch and caught a quick pose with these candy critters. Jolly Rancher and my Hershey favorite Reese's.

After lunch, we all rode the train, which takes us through the park.
We also took a ride on the monorail. This too takes us all through the park. Below I am with Edie. She is 80 years old and has been a chaperone with Tulip since the very beginning. She is a wonderful lady.

Some of the sights along the trip.

We spent some more time enjoying the theme park, before we made our way out towards Chocolate Town USA.

We spent a little time getting pictures with these fun characters.

Inside Chocolate town they have the factory tour. Its a free indoor ride that takes you through the process of making Hershey's chocolate.

I have taken this tour so many times. But it is always so much fun. And you get a chocolate at the end.

Chocolate town also has all of the souvenirs. There is anything and everything you could want chocolate related there. I ended up getting myself some Reese's Peanut butter cup sweat pants. They also have a food court and in celebration of the 50th anniversary they had some very special treats.

I feel may waste line getting bigger just looking at these yummy goodness.
Shopping is always a highlight for these guys and we spent most of the afternoon and into the evening spending money on yummies.

We ended the day with a dinner out at a local diner before heading back to the hotel for bed. Tomorrow is a travel day as we head back home. TTFN
