Mean Girls; 2023

I simply love the theater. I really do wish I did more shows. Years ago I purchased the Broadway season, and it was a monthly event. Now I go when my friend Nikki suggests it, and she has been the glue to my connection with several of the people from my old job. I really suck at keeping up relationships, and I appreciate Nikki for creating these get togethers. 

Tonight we were meeting to see Mean Girls. 

Tonight it was me, Nikki and Cynthia. We had dinner at the Salt City Market. This place is new to me. Down Town had changed a lot since I have been here. The Market has several different food venues to choose from, all of them are NOT the traditional American fare. I am funny about new and unusual foods, but I am trying to explore more. 

Apparently not on this trip. It looks like I had a chicken sandwich. 

Nikki was a bit more adventurous. 

After dinner it was time to go to the theater.

This was the first time I have seen this as a theatrical performance. I have seen the move, which I loved, but the Broadway musical is the BOMB!!!!If you get to see it go! So many times I think there is just no way that they can make a movie into a musical with any success. This however was amazing. I loved the songs...huming Aprex preditor in my head....loved the jokes, there were  a lot. In fact, I think Tina Fey wrote the screen play so of course the humor was in full rage. Even if I hadn't seen the movie it was easy to follow the plot. I really felt like the play created a deeper connection to some of the other character. Like Cady, the lead in the movie (Lindsay Lohan) overshadows the other characters as the lead. The musical I found a much closer connection with Lizzy her unpopular friend. I can't say more about how much I loved it. It was a great evening with friends. TTFN
