Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom
April 25th 2018

Our last day at the Disney Theme parks. I think we were so busy this post may not have nearly as many pictures,
We arrived early, but so did everyone else. Magic Kingdom was already making movement when we got there. At Magic Kingdom, you actually have to park, take a tram and then take the monorail to get to the park. It was quite a long process just to get to the front gates.
We finally arrived....The entrance to  Magic Kingdom. The happiest place on Earth.

Now on Main Street USA. We didn't spend much time here as we were heading to the main stage for opening ceremonies. The last time I was here the opening ceremonies were set on the stage and the characters came in on the Rail Road.

Not to long after we found a place near the castles main stage the ceremonies began.

The gangs all here......Welcome to Magic Kingdom!
We entered right through the castle and found ourselves in Fantasy Land. The attractions were filling quickly. We missed our change to ride Peter Pan, and headed to Its a Small World.

Before we did, we said hello to these guys....

We were the very first ride of the small worlds day.

There was noone else on the entire ride when we went through.

Of course this means the song was in our head all day long.

After its a Small world we noticed that there were lines forming for most of Fantasy Land attractions and decided to head to the Haunted Mansion. But first a glance at Rapunzel's castle. This is new to me. There apparently is an area for a restaurant, and Belle from Beauty in the Beast around the corner from this castle. Cool.

but for now....we dance with the dead....

The Haunted Mansion is one of my all time favorites. I simply love this ride. We ended up all sitting in one cab and this made for an uncomfortable and un-enjoyed ride. I do not suggest you have three adults ride in one car.
at any rate it was still cool. Spoiler alert: The ghosts no longer ride behind you in the cart, the catch a ride on the top of your car.
After the mansion we hit up the tea cups before heading to Space Mountain. We had fast passes.

This was fun but made us dizzy.....perhaps not the best ride to start your day....
In fact Aimee was not feeling well enough to ride space mountain after this. She sat the ride out while Stef and I took off to space.

We met her after the ride and took a trip on the Rail road to the other side of the park at Frontierland.

Our next fast pass was for Big Thunder Mountain.

Aimee was still not feeling all that well, so she skipped this too. Stef and I enjoyed this old classic.

Hello Splash mountain....we have a fast pass for you later. See you in a bit.

Instead of staying in Frontierland we headed to Adventure Land and got in with Captain Jack Sparrow at The Pirates of Caribbean Ride."Yo ho ho ho...a pirates life for me."

This is another classic ride. I love The Pirates of the Caribbean. Just to note, they no longer have the ladies of the evening auction, and there is a lot more emphases on Jack Sparrow then I recall from my last trip.

Aimee and Stefanie were getting hungry by now and got some classic turkey legs. I had the Dole Whip upside down pineapple yumminess instead.

We still had a little more time before Splash mountains fast pass, so we enjoyed this crane eating a lizard. WOW....ewe....
 took a selfie
shocked that Tom Sawyers Island boats still have Injun Joe in the name, and headed to the Country Bears Jamboree.

 I just love this show.
and the mounted heads are a neat added touch. I hate to say it but this show is getting slow and outdated. Disney may need to step it up.
Is this just about the most homely bear in the bunch?
later in the day he was flirting with me....

Still some time before Space Mountain we headed to The Enchanted Tiki Room. I remember being scared as a kid, but couldn't recall why. Its just animated birds singing, but then when the Gods were called in and the wood characters came to life too, I can understand why I remembered it being scary. It is a little frightening.
This attraction has been around so long I remember it as a kid.

After the Tiki birds....we noticed a short wait for Jungle Cruise..... Stefanie went off to find spray bottles because it was getting HOT and we anticipated a short line at Jungle Cruise and ending up just in time for Splash Mountain.

This wait ended up being much longer then the 40 minute estimated time. We stayed still for what seemed like forever. We even tried to exit the line afraid we would miss our time at Splash mountain. Thank you again Disney App. We were able to adjust the time to a little later and had our fun at the Jungle Cruise.

This is another Disney classic. The best part is the boat driver's comedy relief. Fun fact: The staff of the Jungle Cruise boats create all their own comedy and it is a requirement for the position. Think you have some comedic talent? There is a future for you at The Jungle cruise.
The ride went fairly fast, I think in part due to the long lines of people waiting.

As silly as it is, it's still a fun must do ride at Disney.

And finally we were ready for Splash Mountain....here we go, just do not throw me in the brie patch.
The tar baby scene has been removed. It's amazing how things have changed over the years. What we identify as acceptable once in our history.
Regardless EVERY BODY HAS A LAUGHING PLACE....

These were not purchased from Disney, but heres a look at our faces on the splash.

We wanted to head back to Tomorrowland, and tried to take the train...but it was busted...Yep NO steam. So we headed back on foot. It worked out well because we got to see a show with the Country bears, Brae Rabit and other country friends.

Through Frontier Land into Liberty Square.. We had heard the Haunted Mansion had closed for a bit. We got a little silly and decided to start a rumor. This took on a life of its own. Who died in the Haunted Mansion this lead to all kinds of silliness. Did I mention we all need serious professional help? And I am married to a SHRINK.....apparently I need MORE then that.

 Quickly past the castle again......
 and back into Tomorrowland.
Here we enjoyed the Monsters Inc Laugh Factory. Loved it!
Buzz Lightyears Spaceranger  Spin (We got fastpasses for this another hooray for the Disney app)

I sat on the wrong side and ended up shooting by crossing my arms....

Then we went on the People mover

Had dinner at The Cosmic Cafe with our Spacey Piano Man. Sonny Eclipse.

Crossed paths but did not ride Dumbo.

I bet this area would be fun for the little guys.

Got ourselves fast passes for the Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

Walked briefly around Belle's town and saw Gustant

Belle and Beast castle. It is actually a dining area. It looks amazing. I loved the Gargoyles at the moat.
We looked for more fastpasses as the day was getting dark. We never were able to get access to Mine Train, which has replaced Snow Whites Scary Ride, or Peter Pans Flight. Next time I guess. But we did get a fast pass for Winnie the Pooh

Stefanie purchased a light up magic wand and we headed back to the Center stage for the evening finale. The Happily Ever After Fire Works Show.

The Show was AMAZING!!! Another evening that words cannot describe. It was CROWDED however and a little CRAZY....

The castle had scenes from the Princess movies
while the music went with the Fireworks.

 The balloons from Up

 It was truly magical.

 The Gene

 Sleeping Beauty's evil Maleficent.

 Absolutely INSANE!!!!!Amazing

After the show it was just as INSANE. Thousands of people trying to EXIT and get on the monorail was a nightmare. Strongly suggest you wait around a bit after the show to let the bulk of people leave wow1
Good night Disney World. Until next time.
Another Amazing fun filled day at Disney. I am already planning my next trip. Still a few more adventures before we head back to NY in 2 days...TTFN
