Its a Wonderful life.

Seneca Falls, NY
December 14th 2019

I love the holiday movie Its a Wonderful life  with James Stewart and and Donna Reed.

The classic movie was based on Philip Van Doren Stern's book The Greatest Gift. Bedford Falls, the fictitious town, is said to be based off the town of Seneca Falls, NY . I was unable to find any answer to validate this fact, but it has been researched by many and Seneca Falls has made claim to the title. In honor of such greatness, Seneca Falls hosts an Its a Wonderful Life Festival every December.
Stefanie, Kate and I took the short drive to Seneca falls to enjoy the festivities. We first stopped to enjoy the Lamas. Although I do not know what lamas have to do with Its a Wonderful Life.

Up next we caught a wagon ride...

After our wagon ride we ran into Santa himself, but he was walking with the police. What did Santa do?

The town had several things going on both about and regarding Its a Wonderful Life, but also Seneca Falls most known attributes; Women's Rights!

Inside the church that allowed the meeting of the women's rights to be held.
We also stopped in the Women's Rights National Museum.

We soon were back on the streets and ran into one of the Wonderful Life characters; Crabby old Mr. Potter. We spent some time talking with him. He really was not a nice man.
We also saw another character, but I don't recall his name;
We found Santa again, he was kind enough to offer the girls a chance to sit on his lap.

Some more exploring took us to the Museum.

We continued down the road and went to Van Cleff Lake.

Last bit of our time at the festival, we hit up the Its a Wonderful Life museum.  The festival was getting very crowded and the museum was small. We did a quick look at all of the artifacts of the movie as well as seeing a women who is the grand daughter or daughter of Donna Reed who was signing autographs. (We skipped this.)

After a fun filled morning at the Its a Wonderful life Festival, we made our way to a local diner for some late breakfast/early lunch then headed to the Del Lago casino for a little casino fun (I lost) and then the three of us headed back to Liverpool for a ladies evening Holiday party.

The "MEAN" girls Holiday party. I got this bestest gift from Renee.

I found this rock while I was in Seneca Falls.
What a wonderful day. TTFN
