Summertime: Hikes, camp, wine tour, KFA, and The NY state Fair.

July/Aug. 2021
Central NY area

The rest of the summer I tried to stay busy. Riley (the pup) and I took walks/hikes. I enjoyed many long weekends at camp and like all of the summers of my youth The NY State fair represented summers end.

I found this lovely mermaid rock while walking with Riley.

These were from the Village of Baldwinsville NY. Although I did not see any I am told there are sometime eagles here. Today I had actually come out to find some geocashes.
And I scored...

I actually found three in all and walked about 3 miles while searching.

One weekend I was fortunate to be invited to stay at my friends Gina's seasonal campsite in Canandaqua, NY. She has a nice set up at the KOA located there.

Its a beautiful campground with a ton of things todo. We had breakfast at the cafe, swam in the pool and enjoyed a fun girls weekend. Gina, Michelle and I.

On that Saturday, we all headed to the local firgrounds to watch Kisses from Above race. He rocked it and came in 1st place.

In the winners circle, and I accidently cut out Mark. Sorry buddy.

Back at Gina's camp we enjoyed a swim before dinner and played some bingo after a storm rolled past.

My free items for being my 1st time.
Michelle almost one the grad prize. A free nights stay. She had the BINGO then someone else had it too. There was a BINGO off...and Michelle lost. WAHHHHH!!! Oh well, it was all in good fun. Below Gina gets a choice of prizes/
Pool time fun. Maddox and Mason cool off from the summer heat in the pool at home.
I have been fortunate to be able to spend so much time with my daughter the last few summers. (The only good thing to come out of COVID) and she invited me and Kelly out with her and some of her friends on a wine tour. It was not much of a tour as we only went to a few winery's but it was a ton of fun. Acting as the DD, I only had this one tasty wine slushie.

Some winery critters....

1969...what a wonderful year. (Yes I am that old)

After the wine tour, we headed out to my camp for some fun.

Stefanie met us there and we had some cocktails/
Breakfast the following morning at the barn down the road. (Every Saturday they offer free coffee and doughnuts.)
Later that day, we went to a fellow campers Birthday Party! Happy Birthday Buck. I never met you before this day, but I sure enjoyed the music, food and fun.
(the musicians were amazing)
(Aimee, Stefanine and Kelly) enjoy the party. Oh and Flash is right in the middle of all the fun. I have begun calling him the sprinkler due to his head shaking and slime flying.

My dear little friend Bailey...

On Wednesday evenings we have all be going to play trivia/ We are not very good.Or maybe we are just not very fast./
Regardless we have had so much fun.

Our racehorse Kisses From Above has been doing well overall. Mark has made some money back on this investment. Although, I look at him as one of the family.

I did very well at the casino this past week.
The NY state fair is back despite the reported increase in COVID cases that seems to be spiking here in Onondaga County. The local news on COVID and nationally has been so contraversal. COVID...run...BUT come to the NY STATE fair? What? Anyway, Mark and i went and I can say it was an unusual experience. There were less vendors and several areas were closed. Less vendors and less people. Im not complaining, It was just strange. No lines for anything, which was good, but we pretty much did everything you could do at the fair in less then 3 hours. We hung out to catch the evenings show of Ratt! 1980's here we go.
2021 Sand sculpture and the beautiful birds.

Of course the butter sculpture is a yearly feature.

This guy was new, (to me anyway) the moving piano man.

Our very 1st real concert in over a year.

We had a great time, singing and dancing to these retro 1980's hair band metal group. TTFN
