The Zoo in Winter

 Feb 2023

Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet park.

Alexis was watching her best friends son Jordan and we decided to spend the day at the Zoo.

The zoo in winter has both it's advantages and disadvantages. We were able to view most of the inside animal attractions, like this sloth.

And we were surprised that these wild hogs were enjoying the snow outside.
And I think this is the first time I have ever seen the wolves out in the many years I have visited this place.

What was odd was to see the camel in the snow. These guys are dessert animals aren't they?

What is up with this guys hump? Perhaps he is cold.

The penguins didn't seem to mind the snow or cold. They played tag with Jordan behind the glass.

This bear didn't seem to mind all that snow.

The snow leopard was fast asleep as the snow fell around his home. He seemed rather to be enjoying this.

The condensation on the glass that houses the elephants made even a tiny glimpse impossible.

The best and most exciting animals were these otters. It's unusual that they are out playing around, we got lucky today and they were having a great time.

This was one of the few animals still inside.
as of course was this sea horse.
The monkey section was totally blocked off, I guess they are doing remodeling. But we were able to end the day in the bird room. My least favorite. There doesn't seem to be as many birds in here as there has been in the past. It still sinks though.

It was a wonderful day with my daughter and Jordan.  TTFN
