Kisses from above was racing at Batavia Downs so Mark and I decided to make the journey out to watch him run. he usually runs at Vernon Downs so this was something a little different. We had also decided to make a fun weird stops along the way. Have you ever heard of those weird roadside attractions? Well we had a day of them and first up was this out of nowhere Steam Shovel location.
It was just sitting here in this remote location with a little historical marker.
There was some information about the steam shovel. Hum.....
It was just a weird thing out here on display.
UP next we stopped at the Jell-o museum in LeRoy NY. We had been here before, so we just stopped took a picture and made our way to the next weird attraction.
Devils Rock. Yep, here in the middle of the Farmlands of NY state is the rock that held the Devil down.
The writing was to faded to read, but I will take their word for it that this is the rock.
I googled and the story is that yes, the Prince of Darkness was indeed chained here. (hum) and the shape of the once a bolder was defined by the Devils attempts to escape. Well if he didn't escape where is he now? Anyway it was a silly stop and on to the next.
All those oddities we were getting hungry, so we stopped at Bourbon and Burgers in Batavia. It was so yummy.
We made it to Batavia. Of course we had to spend some of our time gambling before Kisses was scheduled to run.
Then he was up. and then he was not a winner.....Wahhhhhhh!
It was a very long depressing ride home in the dark that night.
