December 2021- The New year 2022
It has been a long while since I have blogged. My daughter has been using my laptop while she has been attending college and this was the first time that I have had this back and able to catch up. Wow a whole lot of things have happened in the last 7 months so I am sure I will be busy with writing. This insert is back to last December and into the New year. (I have already messed up inserting the pictures so this blog is going to be backwards chronologically.)
So.......Here we go. Starting with December 31st 2021. At this point in my life and for most people in the USA, COVID is a thing of the past. There is still concern, and masks are still required here in NY State, but for New Years Eve this year, my husband and I were invited again to attend the Turning Stone Resort New Years Eve Party. We were instructed to wear masks during part of the scheduled evening, but we were able to go mask free at the dinner and evening show as long as we had our vaccinations. The irony of reporting on the virus now and looking back to the end of 2021, is that I survived the entire 2 years of the pandemic COVID free only to get it a few weeks ago. (I survived and it was pretty much like having a long drawn out cold) but I digress. At any rate, here we were at the Turning Stone for New Years and we were both excited. We were gifted this package themed after the Sail Away theme of tonight's New Years celebration.
We were both excited for the evening fun. First a few selfies and some themed 2022 pictures.
The beautiful ice sculpture in the shape of a life perserver.
The first part of the evening was a beautiful cocktail hour with dining and a musical performance.
Cheese, cracker, and seafood surrounded the cocktail hour. I avoided these gourmet meals and filled myself with alcoholic beverages.
Mark on the other hand enjoyed all these eats.
Dinner, did not go smooth if I recall, but I will forget the bad times on here and simply say, by the time dinner came I was starving and had possibly way to many cocktails. I did not enjoy the first few courses. (seafood again)
(It sure looked good....)
The entertainment was provided much like you would see on a cruise ship.
Finally....dinner (do you see what came with my steak?) more seafood. BUT Anyways
The desserts made up for any of the earlier evening issues or missed meals due to my hate for seafood. These desserts were so pretty....I had to take a picture of all of them.
More desserts were made available in the ballroom as we celebrated into the midnight countdown.
We enjoyed the rest of the evening listening to music and eating desserts. What a wonderful way to end 2021. Diet starts tomorrow afterall.
Back in our room we were gifted this from Mark's hostess Natalie. Happy Anniversary to us. 20 years this New Years Day!
The following morning we had breakfast before heading home into a new year!
Welcome 2022
Here we are 20 years ago.
One of the evenings in December, we all went out to play TRIVIA.
Alexis got her Christmas present early. This bean bag bed/chair, may be something I will look into for my Casita, if I ever get the floor replaced.
We had Christmas at my parents home this year. It was a nice change.
Even Riley joined us.
Dinner was amazing!
Thats a whole lot of gifts.
As always, spending time with my family was the best present.
On to the next things that have happened so far this year.
